Once again, California Airlines has been awarded not only the mail contract but also
the Search and Rescue contract for the Salmon River Mountain area, in Idaho.

This contract will run through the month of September and for those of you who
are using X-Plane 8.40, the new scenery is outstanding.

Our aircraft will need to be staged from Monterey, California (KMRY) to Cascade, Idaho (u70)
before we can start flying these missions.
Phase 1 of the mission is to ferry aircraft to our staging area.

This year we will be using our Special Operation aircraft:
BA 609 Tilt Rotor
Cessna 182T
MC130P Hercules

Once we begin our flights supporting the USFS, all pilots need to possess the Mountain Flying Certification by passing check ride “Charlie.”
